Tutorial: Lil Chick Easter Card :)

We know its a little early for Easter but we made this super cute card and had to teach all of you how to too! Enjoy!

Heres What You Need:
-yellow card stock (one 12x12 piece is enough for 2 cards)
-orange paper for the beak and feet
-black buttons
-paper to make the Easter Egg Sripes( we used My Minds Eye pape
rs)
-Some kind of flowers (your choice!.. we used sticker ones but cloth or chipboard would work too)
- ribbon if you want your chick to
have a bow
-Your tools (scissors, tape runner)

1. The first thing we did was to make an oval shape out of the yellow cardstock. (First I made an oval shape in photoshop and printed it out, then cut the little triangles out on the top half to make the chick's fuzzy feathers. Then I traced this onto the cardstock and cut it out.) Also I made the back of the card. I made an oval shape with another upsidown part of an oval shape on top and cut it out together.. (that sounds really confusing so heres a picture) :

Then when your ready to put the card together you fold that top piece over and glue it to the other piece.

2. I chose the colors of paper I liked for the Easter Egg colors and cut them into strips. Placing them on the yellow card stock, I cut the edges to be the same shape as the rounded egg. It might be easier if you glued the paper strips on first, then cut the edges.

3. Cut the pieces out for the beak, feet and two strips for the pop out part of the feet ( mine were about 2 inches long and wide enough to hold your feet ( cut the feet first so you know how wide to
make your strips.) The feet are the two heart shaped pieces.

4. Glue all the pieces you have so far onto the yellow chick cutout (egg strips, beak, and black button eyes)

Now your going to make the feet. Fold your strips of orange paper for the pop out feet.

Then glue the strips of folded paper to the back of the paper hearts. Like this:

Then glue the other end of the folded paper strip to the chick.. where
the feet go.

Here is what you should have so far:
Now all thats left is to add the little stuff. Add your flowers and if you want your chick to be a girl add a bow to her "hair". It also looks really cute with Happy Easter stamped onto the middle stripe.

Now that you have everything on glue your two card pieces together. And TAH DAH! A cute lil chick! Enjoy! Be sure to email us with pictures of your cards if you make this tutorial!
